Meet our team
Source was founded in 2015 by two award winning industry leaders, Gavin Tew and Lawrence Hargreaves.
After holding leadership roles within an award winning technology recruitment agency, they wanted a new challenge and created a new business founded on principles of customer service, innovation and strong values.
Gavin has worked in tech recruitment since 2001, gaining experience in all technologies and all industry sectors. He progressed quickly, rising through the ranks to Manager, Director & Sales Director before setting up Source Technology with Lawrence in 2015.
With a hugely energetic personality, Gavin gets hands on with all aspects of client service delivery as well as steering the strategic direction of the business. Acting as a mentor to his teams, he is passionate about creating a supportive culture where people can reach their full potential, proven by the numerous awards he’s won during his career.
Hell bent on turning Source into a market leading recruitment consultancy, Gavin also does the odd bit of recruitment himself.
With a track record of building teams, divisions and leading international expansion, Lawrence has worked in technology recruitment since 2000. His career spans all technologies and multiple industries, and prior to founding Source with Gavin, he spent several years as Managing Director of a leading technology recruitment agency.
One of Lawrence’s priorities at Source is implementing a customer-focused culture, ensuring that processes, service and delivery are faultless.
Unswervingly committed to achieving positive outcomes for all stakeholders, Lawrence constantly seeks to innovate and remain ahead of the curve in a ferociously competitive industry.
Associate Director & Head of Financial Services
Matt has been at the forefront of technology recruitment during his 12 year career, working in all technologies across commerce, industry and financial services and progressing rapidly from Consultant to Senior Management and Directorship.
Adept at creating and building successful teams and divisions through relentless, consistent delivery, Matt is instrumental in developing new business opportunities for Source.
A real team advocate, Matt’s positive personality inspires and drives others to be the best they can.
Head of Nordics
Martin focuses on technology recruitment and project hires for clients in the Nordic Region. Providing a range of recruitment solutions including sourcing, headhunting and staffing complex projects, he also adds value through the delivery of regular market insight.
With a particular strength in data and analytics, he has built a strong candidate network and has used his recruitment experience to help large organisations re-engineer their hiring processes to attract top talent.
Head of Technical Engineering
Jack’s specialist knowledge and experience of recruiting into technical engineering industries has been built up throughout his recruitment career. Having won plenty of accolades in his previous roles, he joined Source to head up the Technical Engineering division.
Expert technical knowledge and a stellar candidate network spanning all niche skills and stretching across the globe has cemented Jack’s strong reputation with clients. Nurturing solid relationships is a key strength, resulting in satisfied customers and repeat business, and giving him a great platform to build up his Technical Engineering division.
Head of Enterprise & Innovation
With a successful track record in the delivery of disruptive technologies and cyber security, John heads up the Enterprise & Innovation division at Source. He provides organisations with talent ranging from single resource to entire teams with a global remit to transform a business through the delivery of technical client facing solution architecture teams.
His world is full of buzzwords and technical terminology – cloud foundry, application modernization and blockchain to name a few! If it’s technology and transformation, John and his team know about it, working with cutting edge clients ranging from financial institutions to supply chain.

Since 2005, Steve has been recruiting some of the newest and rarest technology skills, helping organisations to embrace the digital revolution and transform their businesses in ambitious, ground breaking ways.
